As explained to the Council in the Evaluation-Action Plan, department heads will begin

Department will begin the briefings. The Police Department briefing will cover the
following topics outlined in the Action Plan:
1. Equipment/Facility conditions — discussion will cover some of the important
purchases made in the last few years as well as some that we would like to see
in the near future. We will also discuss the condition of the current police
facility.
2. Technology — discussion will cover technology improvements made, where we
are today as it relates to technology, and where we would like to be tomorrow.
3. Staff turnover/pending retirements — will discuss current personnel vacancies
as well as, turnover, retirements, military deployments, employees on workers
comp, and those on FMLA
4. Departmental morale — discussion will focus on the impact of changes in
org"anizational philosophy on departmental morale.
In addition to the listed items, Chief Salame will also discuss the efforts taken to
minimize crime in our city, such as the various crime prevention and outreach efforts and
implementation of Compstat.. I expect these agenda items to cover the time allotted for
the discussion with extra time for questions.
