HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1995-051 �� ORDINANCE N0. 95-51 � AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING THE GRAPEVINE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 20-7, RELATIVE TO STREET NAME CHANGES; PROVIDING FOR THE NAME CHANGE OF A CERTAIN STREET; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the developer of Delaney Vineyards has requested that the street names of the two streets bordering his Winery be changed to reflect the character of his development in the vineyard district of Grapevine, and WHEREAS, the sole tenant on each of the two streets has posed no objection to said request. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ' ""'�" GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: � Section 1 . That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this ordinance as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That Chapter 20, Section 20-7 Street Name Changes of the Grapevine Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by the addition of the following street name changes: "Mulberry Boulevard from its intersection with SH 121 Service Road east and south to its intersection with Glade Road is hereby designated and shall hereafter be known as Champagne Boulevard. Hollyberry Trail from its intersection with Champagne Boulevard is hereby designated and shall hereafter be known as Merlot Avenue." Section 3. All provisions of Section 20-7 not specifically amended herein shall remain in full force and effect and shall not be amended by the adoption of this ordinance. Section 4. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word in this ordinance, or application thereto any person or circumstance is held invalid or �,,, unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the �;:� validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and the City Council hereby declares it would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance in spite of such invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. � Section 5. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morats, peace and general welfare of the public creates an emergency which requires that this ordinance become effective from and after the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
