The Invocation was delivered by Council Member Gil Traverse. � , , ITFM 1. EX�]CUTIVE SFSSION Mayor Tate then announced that the City Council wnuld recess to Conference Roan #204 to conduct an executive session relative to the review and evaluation of the City Manager's ac�iinistration of the Fire Departm�.nt under amenciments to Article 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S. , Subsection 2(g) . i � Upon reconvening in the Council Chambers, Mayor Tate called the meeting back � to order and called upon City Manager Dennis E. Dawson. Mr. Dawson requested �' direction fran the Council to prcmulgate a pay plan for the Fire Departlnent � for fiscal year 1989, which deals with the following: Step Pay Plan only, no I across the board raises and a reasonable time frame of four (4) years to � progress between the various steps of the pay plan. The ranges would be revised periodically by an annual market study, and there would be no guarantee of a raise as a result of that market study. The employees, in � order to go fran one step to another, would be required to gass an evaluation � process. Mr. Dawson stated October 1 would be used as an anniversary date for employees who are topped out in their gay range, and the date of gnployme.nt would be utilized as an anniversary date for new hires. He also reported there would be a one (1) year probationary period. Council MemUer Glynn offered a motion to authorize the City Manager to develop a gay plan and then present it to Council for consideration.
