I . CALL TO ORDER
II. EXECUTIVE SESSION
A. City Council to recess to the Conference Room to
discuss the City Manager employment agreement pursuant
to Article 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S, Subsection 2 (g) -
Personnel.
B. City Council to reconvene in the Board Room and take
any necessary action relative to personnel, including
consideration of a resolution authorizing the Mayor to
execute the employment agreement with the City Manager,
if applicable.
III . ADJOURNMENT
THIS EMERGENCY AGENDA WAS PREPARED BECAUSE IMMEDIATE ACTION
IS NECESSARY TO ENSURE THE HEALTH, SAFETY, AND GENERAL
WELFARE OF THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS.
IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 6252-17 , V.A.T.C.S. , AS AMENDED
BY CHAPTER 227, ACTS OF THE 61ST LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SES-

CITY OF GRAPEVINE
The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Special Session on
this the 9th day of July, 1987 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Roan, Grapevine/
Colleyville Independent School District, 3051 West Highway 26, with the
following members present to-wit:
Tom Powers Mayor
Ted R. Ware Mayor Pro Tem
Jim Glynn Council Member .
Sharron Spencer Council Member
C. Shane Wilbanks Council Member
Gil Traverse Council, Member

constituting a quorum, with Council Member Lynn R. Niedermeier absent, with
the following members of the City Staff:

John F. Boyle, Jr. City Attorney
Linda Huff City Secretary
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Powers called the meeting to order.
EXECUTIVE SESSION

Mayor Powers announced the City Council would go into Executive Session in the
Conference Roan to discuss the City Manager employment agreement pursuant to
Article 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S., Subsection 2(g) - Personnel.
Upon reconvening in the Board Roan, all members of the City Council were �
present with the exception of Council Member Niedermeier. The following
action was taken as a result of the closed session. r

RESOLUTION, CITY MANAGER EMPLOYEMNT AGREEMENT k
As a result of the Executive Session, City Staff recamtended approval of a
resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute the employment agreement, con-
taining mutual terms, conditions and covenants as outlined, in the agreement
with the City Manager for an annual salary of $70,000.00.
The caption of the proposed resolution was read into the record.

Council Member Glynn made a motion to approve the resolution authorizing the
Mayor to execute the employment agreement with City Manager Dennis Dawson.
The motion was seconded by Council Member Traverse and prevailed by the p,
ensuing vote:
Ayes : Powers, Ware, Glynn, Wilbanks, & Traverse j
Nays : Spencer
Absent: Niedermeier

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
WITH THE CITY MANAGER
ADJOURNMENT
The deliberations of the City Council having been concluded, Mayor Pro Tem
Ware offered a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by
Council Member Traverse which prevailed by the ensuing vote:

Ayes . Powers, Ware, Glynn, Spencer, Wilbanks, & Traverse
Nays . None
Absent: Niedermeier
