ORDINANCE NO. 94-60
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING THE GRAPEVINE CODE
OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING CHAPTER 8, BY ADDING
A NEW SECTION 8-12 RELATING TO THE TEEN COURT
PROGRAM FEE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Articie 45.55, Section (el
enables municipalities to collect a ten dollar ($10.00) fee for the processing of Teen
Court requests; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby determines that it is in the best interest of
the City to collect a ten dollar (S 10.00) fee for the processing of Teen Court requests;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to recover the cost it incurs in processing
Teen Court requests.

w.�► NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grapevine,
Texas is hereby amended by the addition of a new section, Section 8-12 which shall
read as follows:
"Sec. 8-12. Teen Court Program Fee
A fee of ten dollars (S 10.00) shall be charged as a special expense each time
a person requests to participate in a Teen Court program for the purpose of
having a misdemeanor charge punishable by fine only or a violation of a penal
ordinance of this political subdivision, including a traffic offense punishable by
fine only, dismissed after the successful completion of a Teen Court Program.
The fee shall be paid into the City treasury to recover the costs incurred by the
City in processing the person's request for a Teen Court program."

Section 2. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word
in this Ordinance, or application thereto any person or circumstances is held invalid
or unconstitutional by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance; and the City Council hereby
declares it would have passed such remaining portions of this Ordinance despite such
invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the City of
� Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals,
peace and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Grapevine, Texas, creates
an emergency for the immediate preservation of public business, property, health,
safety and general welfare of the public which requires that this ordinance shall
become effective from and after the date of its passage and it is accordingly so
ordained.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall become effective from and after the date
of its passage.
