ORDINANCE NO. 93-03
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
`�'� GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING THE GRAPEVINE CODE
OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 20-7, RELATIVE TO STREET
NAME CHANGES; PROVIDING FOR THE NAME CHANGE
OF A CERTAIN STREET; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, due to the reconstruction and realignment of the Dailas Road and
Ira E. Woods Avenue intersection as part of the Dallas Road Widening Project between
State Highway 114 and Loop 382; and
WHEREAS, the old alignment of Ira E. Woods Avenue from State Highway 114
to South Main Street is no longer in existence in that configuration; and
WHEREAS, clarification of the limits of the Ira E. Woods Avenue designation
and the limits of the Dallas Road designation are in the best interests of the general
public and the City of Grapevine;

,,�, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and
are incorporated into the body of this ordinance as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That Chapter 20, Section 20-7 Street Name Changes of the
Grapevine Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by the addition of the following
street name changes:
"That portion of a public roadway extending from the State Highway
114 and State Highway 26 (Ira E. Woods Avenue) intersection east to
the Witliam D. Tate Avenue intersection be hereinafter named Ira E.
Woods Avenue.
That portion of a public roadway extending from the William D. Tate
Avenue intersection with Ira E. Woods Avenue and South Ball Street '

east to Loop 382 be hereinafter named Dallas Road." '
Section 3. All provisions of Section 20-7 not specifically amended herein shall
' ' remain in full force and effect and shall not be amended by the adoption of this
ordinance.

Section 4. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word
in this ordinance, or application thereto any person or circumstance is held invalid or
unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and the City Council hereby
declares it would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance in spite of
such invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 5. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the City of
Grapevine, Texas are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals,
peace and general welfare of the public creates an emergency which requires that this
ordinance become effective from and after the date of its passage, and it is
accordingly so ordained.
