+r� AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING THE GRAPEVINE
CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING CHAPTER 16
PARKS AND RECREATION, SECTION 16-10, REPEALING
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES, PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF FIVE
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500. 00) FOR EACH OFFENSE,
AND A SEPARATE OFFENSE SHALL BE DEEMED
COMMITTED EACH DAY DURING OR ON WHICH AN
OFFENSE OCCURS OR CONTINUES; PROVIDING FOR A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That Chapter 16 Parks and Recreation, Section
16-10 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended so that the
catchline and said section shall hereafter read as follows:
� ,� "Section 16-10 - Vehicular and Bicycle Traffic Prohibited in
Public Parks; Posting of Signs
�,t.. (a) It shall be unlawful for any motor vehicle traffic and
bicycles to stop, stand, park or cross over or into any
' park, playground or recreational area owned, leased,
operated or under control of the City, except in
specifically designated areas or when City sponsored or
co-sponsored events are being held.
(b) The City Manager or his designated representative is
directed to post signs giving notice that all vehicular
and bicycle traffic is prohibited except in specifically
designated areas. "
Section 2 . That any person violating the provisions of this
Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction be subject to a fine in accordance with Section 1-6 of
the Code of Ordinances.
Section 3 . If any section, paragraph or provision of this
ordinance or the application of any particular section, paragraph
or provision to any person or situation is for any reason judged
invalid, such adjudication shall not affect any other section,
�,,,,,, paragraph or provision of this ordinance or the application of any
other section, paragraph or provision of this ordinance or the
application of any other section, paragraph or provision to any
other person or situation, and the City Council declares that it
'�""'' would have adopted the valid portions and applications of this

ordinance without the invalid parts, and to this end the provisions
of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 4 . The fact that the present ordinances and
"� regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to
properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace and general
welfare of the public creates an emergency which requires that this
ordinance become effective from and after the date of its passage,
and it is accordingly so ordained.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 21st day of April , 1992 .
