The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Special Session on �
;� this the 24th day of March, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, �
� Municipal Court Roan #205, 307 W. Dallas Road, with the following members F.
present to wit:

�, The meeting was called to order by Mayor Potn�rs.

� CONTRACT, CONSTRLK.'rION INSPECI'OR SERVIC�S, CIVIC CIIV'i�R
The first item of business was for the City Council to consider authorizing
the City Manager to enter into a professional services contract for ;
construction inspector services relative to construction of the Civic Center. °
I �
Assistant Director of Public Works Jerry Hodge noted that Turner, Collie &
Braden, Inc. withdrew their proposal fran the City of Grapevine thus
terminating all negotiations. Staff contacted Black & Veatch Engineering/
Architects that had su�mitted a proposal for one thousand man hours for
� ccanpleting the inspection assignment. Mr. William E. Carrol, Project Manager,
! and Mr. Roy W. Peyton, Supervising Project Representative, were available for
� questions fran the City Council.
Council M�nber Glynn stated the Facility Coim�ittee recammended acceptance of
the contract. Following brief Council discussion, Mayor Pro Tem Ware made a
motion to accept the rec�ndation of the Facilities Comnittee and authorize
'� the City Manager to enter into a contract with Black & Veatch e
� Engineers/Architects for an amount not to exceed $52,400.00. The motion was
seconded by Council Member Wilbanks and prevailed by the ensuing vote:

Ayes: Powers, Ware, Dyer, Glynn, Spencer, Wilbanks, & Niedermeier £
� Nays: None
� EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mayor Pow�ers then announced that the City Council wc�uld recess to Conference �
Rocan #204 to discuss personnel (Police Depart7nent) pursuant to Article `
6252-17, V.A.T.C.S., Subsection 2(f) .
+ Upon reconvening �ntarily in the Council Chambers, it was noted that no
action was necessary as a result of the closed session.

There being no further business to come before the City Council, Council r
li Niember Spencer made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Council
Member Niedernleier, the voted prevailed as follows:
