The meeting was called to order by Mayor Powers.

The Invocation was delivered by City Secretary Linda Huff.
RESOLUkI'ION, DECI�RE RESULTS OF THE 1987 CITY OFFICERS �3�]C,'TION ArID CAL�L A
RUN-OFF �;
Mayor Poc�ers advised that the only order of business was for the City Council
to canvass the returns of the 1987 City Officers Election and consider a
subsequent resolution declaring the results and calling a run-off election.
The City Secretary outlined the resolution containing the results of the
April 4 election and recamnended that a run-off election be called for
April 25 for the puYpose of selecting a Council Member for Place 6.
The results certified by the Election Judge Bill Waldrip were as follaws:

� Following brief discussion of the election and the results, the caption of the ;
'' proposed resolution was presented for the record. The resolution forn�ally �:
declared Ted R. Ware winner in the Place 5 race, and called a run-off election �
between Richard Atkins and Gil Traverse for Place 6. �

A motion was then made by Council M,�snber Wilbanks to adopt the resolution.
