PLANNING & ZONING CONA�IISSION APPLICANI' REVIEW The first order of business was for the City Council to allow the 1987 applicants for the Planning & Zoning Ccnmission to briefly address their background and qualifications for appointrnent. Gil Traverse � received 691 votes and Richard Atkins received 527. � � ;; The caption of the proposed resolution was read into the record. E; A Council Memlaer Dyer made a m.�tion to adopt the resolution declaring the � � results of the run-o�f election for Place 6. This c�uld be a ane-time eantri.bution of $977. The north Te.xas site will be campetang with several ather Texas locations to be the final T�as site. The one T�as site selected will then cc�npete with several natianal sites for the SSC. While the direct benefits ta Grapevine . � will be limi..ted, the establishment of the SSC in north Texas wc>uld provide long-term advantages for the north Texas region. ; � Council discussian concerned payment af the funds frc�nn the Conventian & � Visitors Bureau funds, as �he project is deem�d to be a prc�notion of the City. � After d�.scussion, Mayor Pro Tem Ware made a motion to authorize the City k ' Manager �ta �articipate in the interlocal cantract, an the basis of showing � support for the effor� for tha.s gart of Te�-a.s. The Council was not in favor af ' the Paol Road name change t.a Central Drive. EXFX.'UI'IVE SESSI4N Mayor Potaers then advised the City Council would recess ta Conference Rocan #204 to discuss real estate (Safeway) and personnel (City Manager} pursuant to Article 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S, Subsections 2(f) and 2(g) . Upon reconvening mxrientarily in the Council Chambers, all memk�rs af the City Council were present. I� was reparted that no ac�ian was necessary as a ' result af the closed session.
