Agreement with Tarrant County, Texas as allowed by Texas Government Code, Section
271.101 and 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing Program. The contract was for an initial
one -year period with one renewal option. If approved, this will be the final renewal
option available.
Tarrant County solicited proposals on RFP #2013 -066 and a contract was awarded to
Vector Disease Control International, LLC. The Environmental Manager of Public Works
and Purchasing reviewed the contract for specification compliance and pricing and
determined that this contract would provide the best product, service and pricing for
meeting the needs of the City.
The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for mosquito control
ground spraying services to control disease carrying mosquitoes, including spraying of
adulticides to control the spread of West Nile Virus through mosquitoes. Vector Disease
Control International, LLC has agreed to renew with no increase in pricing.
We will follow the same West Nile Virus control plan that was used last year which
includes spraying in the case of a positive sample.
Staff recommends approval.
