HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2012-040 RESOLUTION NO. 2012-40 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO PURCHASE ANNUAL ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE SERVICES THROUGH AN ESTABLISHED NATIONAL COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of Texas and is authorized by the Interlocal Cooperation Act of the Texas Government Code, Chapter 791 and Texas Local Government Code, Sections 271.101 and 271.102,to enter into joint contracts and agreements for the performance of governmental functions and services; and WHEREAS, a national government purchasing cooperative, the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA)is a qualified purchasing cooperative program as authorized by the Interlocal Cooperation Act of the Texas Government Code, Chapter 791 and Texas Local Government Code, Sections 271.101 and 271.102; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas has established an Agreement for Cooperative Purchasing with the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), and wishes to utilize contracts meeting all State of Texas bidding requirements; and WHEREAS, the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), has established a contract with ThyssenKrupp Elevator Corporation, contract#102111-TKE; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has a need to purchase elevator maintenance services for City facilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase of elevator maintenance services through a cooperative agreement with a national government purchasing cooperative, the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) for $17,238.00. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps necessary to consummate the purchase of said services. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 1st day of May, 2012.
