HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2012-060 RESOLUTION NO. 2012-60 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,TEXAS,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO PURCHASE SIX 2012 FORD TRUCKS THROUGH AN ESTABLISHED COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Local Government Code, Sections 271.081, 271.082 and 271.083 to purchase an item under state contract therefore satisfying any state law requiring local governments to seek competitive bids; and WHEREAS, the State of Texas TxSmartBuy term contracts are a qualified purchasing cooperative program as authorized by Section 271.082 of the Texas Local Government Code; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas, has established a Cooperative Agreement with the State of Texas, # M2201 and wishes to utilize a contract meeting all State of Texas requirements; and WHEREAS, the State of Texas has an established TxSmartBuy term contract 071- A2/#2011-021 for Fleet Trucks with Caldwell Country as the primary contract holder. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase of six 2012 Ford trucks for the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments at a cost of$142,376.00. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps necessary to consummate the purchase of said motor vehicles. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 19th day of June, 2012.
